How to Get into the Crown of Statue of Liberty

Over the 4th of July weekend, it was announced that the "crown" of the Statue of Liberty reopened to the public after closing since 9/11.

The "pedestal" was opened to the public, but the famous crown was closed off to the public.
While news reports today announced that a lottery system will determine the 250 daily visitors, there is another way to skip the wait-and-see game.

Check "http://www.statuecruises.com/" and look at "Crown access". You may make reservations - well in advance - to visit the Crown or the pedestal. Just read the instructions carefully. The price for the Crown Access is just $3.00 over the cost of the boat ride. Even in this economy staying home and visiting the National Parks is still a good deal.
