The Internet age has solidified cyberspace and it's here to stay. We love the Internet. It saves time for a number of responsibilities--paying bills, shopping, research, communication with friends and family. Yet the Internet is still impersonal. It can never replace a handwritten note, a phone call, a pat on the shoulder.
With the holiday season upon us, Blog Sisters turns to e-cards for wishing a Merry Christmas to acquaintances. However, for close friends and family, we still take the time to send a physical card. Christmas is a season that represents more than a giving spirit. It's a physical holiday--one of people gathering to give thanks and show generosity in the form of gifts. Therefore, for us, a holiday greeting should be personal and personalized with a handwritten message where the recipient knows you took the time to think about them in more than an Internet second. With that said, we love to send greeting cards and each year they've become more personalized with photos from throughout the year. We include family events, vacations, staycations, and those insignificant moments to other folks that mean the world to us as a family.
With that said, Blog Sisters discovered this site where you can easily create a custom newsletter to send to friends and family around the world (of course this means starting now so there's time for your letters to reach recipient before Santa Claus does).
Hallmark.com is offering Christmas newsletter templates (for a minimal cost) so you can turn your holiday card into a personalized newsletter. Write your own introduction, share news on family events (son or daughter starting college this year, a new family dog, a fresh beginning after a divorce). Hallmark.com offers a demonstration. Choose from several designs, fill in the words and lots of pictures where designated and voila! Your recipients will be impressed!
Merry Christmas!
